MFAB Board

President (Milnes Seat) – Terry Lea Grunland

Terry Lea’s cousin, Colin Milnes, was president of the board until his sudden death in 2009. At the time we created an honorary “Colin Milnes Seat” on the board, to serve as titular president. Terry is the first to occupy that seat and is more an adviser. She is a Registered Nurse and is head of Daytime Nursing Staff at a prison facility in Caliornia. She was raised in England, and represents British culture and tradition for the connection to Fonteyn.

Vice President – Brian Corman

Brian is a former student of Mr. Ludden, and after studying with him went on to have an international career in classical ballet and contemporary dance. He retired and entered pre-law studies at Columbia University in New York, and is graduating as Valedictorian of his class at Columbia University in the spring of 2010. He has served as a volunteer in Congressional offices, specializing in non-profit needs, and his own father was a Congressman (James C. Corman, LA District, D) for over 20 years with an esteemed career in Treasury, Taxation and Finance. The apple does not fall far from the tree, and Brian offers us excellent analytical and strategic abilities.

Secretary/Treasurer – Dr. Kathryn E. May

Kathryn is a psychologist and published author, and is the largest contributor to MFAB to date, and has been involved in many other ways as well. She has been on board from nearly the beginning and has seen us through everything so far. She is excellent and active in problem solving and helping to organize initiatives.

Dr. Ilya Simakovsky

Dr. Iliya is a chiropractor and a foot/spine specialist. His Peekskill practice is located on South Street, very close to the Academy. He has provided free or greatly discounted service to our professional dancers and many of our students. He screens all students who are auditioning for the school, and holds an office visit with every student who is accepted. He is on call for our needs and has provided excellent care (both rehabilitative and maintenance) for many who have come through our doors. He provides discounted care to our staff and faculty as necessary. He is also the published author of children’s books.

Mrs. Rosemary Bartolotta

Rosemary (“Roe”) has been on our board from the very first day when we arrived in Peekskill. At that time she worked for Bank of New York, and before it was bought by Chase bank was instrumental in helping us with finances. She has done excellent research and connected us with others in the banking and finance worlds as appropriate.
