Leo Perillo met Ludden in a social gathering many years ago. They discovered that they share many beliefs along along artistic, educational, social, and spiritual lines and that is the main link between them. Perillo is in his own right a business leader, was the financial director for Hillary Clinton’s recent presidential campaign, and has been a longtime financial advisor to President Clinton and his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He owns an investment company in California. He serves as a personal advisor and confidante to Ludden. He is a stalwart champion of the need for arts and culture in the largest view of world politics and culture.

Harriet Ishimoto is the daughter-in-law of the late May Ishimoto, longtime friend of Ken Ludden and career wardrobe mistress for ballet, including at American Ballet Theatre for decades through the Ballet Boom years. May is recently deceased, and was working on a tandem book project with Ludden. Harriet met Ludden as Constituent Advisor for Immigration and Visa Support in the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.
